Harbour Lights Truro gains 5 star award!

The Harbour Lights Take Away , which opened in Truro in February, is the first in the county to be awarded a five-star rating from the Seafish Industry Authority.

This is the highest possible accolade that can be gained from our industry association. It is also extremely rare for this  level of award to be given to a new fish and chip shop.

Receiving this award has lead onto Pete being invited to become a regular contributor in the most read Fish and Chip trade publication: “Fish & Chips and Fast Food”, where he hosts a page on environmental issues.

RSPCA Good Business Awards

National finalist (top 3). RSPCA appreciated our stance on only serving sustainable fish since February 2006 and our efforts in considering animal welfare for the meat and poultry products that we serve.

Seafish Fryers Quality Award

The bench mark for top notch chip shops, the Harbour Lights has won this award every year since 2001.

Restaurant Magazine Best Dishes

The Harbour Lights decided to take on some “fine dining” restaurants and ended up in the national top 3 with a very sustainable Cornish Haddock and Pollock Plait, lovingly fried in a Cornish Tribute Ale batter and served with hand cut chunky chips and minted mushy peas.

Cornwall Tourism Awards

Runner Up – Best Café / Popular Restaurant, first ever Fish and Chip Restaurant to be a finalist in this category.
