Harbour Lights’ Recycling Policy
We have a building-wide recycling policy at Harbour Lights so we can reach our goal of being as green as we can be as a business. There are colour coded bins in every department so that all of our waste can be sorted and disposed of accordingly. Currently we recycle all our paper and cardboard, metals, plastics, glass and even our used cooking oils, they all get sent on to live new lives elsewhere. We have even given some of our recyclables new homes in the building or have set them aside for future green projects. You may have seen our old pickle jars filled with creepy crawlies as part of our spooky Halloween decorations in October.
In the works currently is a way in which we can reduce and recycle our left over food waste. We know that sometimes our lovely fish and chips ends up being too filling for hungry tummies and after encouraging everyone to take a doggy box with them, everything left over will soon hopefully go to compost or food recycling. In the meantime bear with us whilst we try and set up regular collections.
As well as sending our own rubbish off to be reincarnated, we also work with all our suppliers so that they only send us produce in reusable/recyclable packaging, again helping us to cut down on our environmental impact. By working as a team both within the business and with our partners we hope to reduce our waste as much as we can.
